Loss of youthful facial appearance and skin elasticity can be caused by various factors such as heredity, sun exposure, weight change and daily stress, as well as the natural aging process. With a surgical facelift, we first improve the position of the underlying muscle tissues, thereby restoring shape, fullness and erasing deeply etched wrinkles in the middle and lower part of the face and neck.
With a surgical facelift, we restore the shape, fullness and erase the deeply etched wrinkles of the middle and lower part of the face and neck. With the help of a facelift, we achieve a refreshed and natural look, which allows us to rejuvenate by as much as 10 or 15 years. As a result, after this type of lifting, the face does not look "tight", but at the same time we achieve a reduction:
A facelift can be performed as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with other procedures, such as an eyebrow lift and an eyelid lift.
- skin laxity,
- fats,
- folds under the lower eyelids,
- sagging of the entire face,
- wrinkles around the mouth and
- chin.
For the sake of comfort and your safety, the operation of the entire face lift is performed under general anesthesia, while the mini-lift is usually performed under local anesthesia.
The type of lifting is chosen taking into account the wishes of the patient and the degree of age-related changes in the face. We distinguish three types of lifting: lifting of the forehead and eyebrows using endoscopic technique, lifting of the middle part of the face using endoscopic technique and lifting of cheeks and neck. In the latter, the skin and subcutaneous tissue on the cheeks and neck are tightened. The incisions are made just in front of the ear and behind the ear, depending on the degree of sagging. Sometimes we make an additional incision under the chin, if it is a more pronounced drooping neck muscle (platysma).
Endoscopic face lifting is minimally invasive, so very few scars are visible after it. The procedure uses small incisions and a miniature camera. Endoscopic face lifting helps eliminate:
- drooping forehead,
- wrinkles between the eyebrows,
- sagging middle part of the face,
- drooping cheeks,
- laugh lines,
- wrinkles around the mouth and
- chin.
In most cases, our team does not recommend a mini facelift. The reason for this is that it is a quick procedure where the results are not long-lasting. Sometimes we make an exception for patients who understand the limitations of a mini facelift, but want a fresh look for special occasions, such as marriage. They are aware that the mini facelift does not have the same comparable results as the more extensive techniques of the classic face lift.
During the recovery period after the procedure, surgeons will place a bandage around your face. This makes it possible to reduce swelling and bruising after the procedure, which will disappear in a maximum of two weeks.
You will also receive detailed instructions that will include wound care guidelines to reduce the chance of infection and the date of your post-operative follow-up visit with the surgeon.
Sutures are usually removed after 7 days. Scars after face lifting surgery are not visible, as they are hidden in the natural folds in front of and behind the ear.
The price of face lifting depends on the specifics of each individual and is determined at the end of the consultation.
