Chin reshaping or mentoplasty is a slightly less well-known aesthetic procedure; but it is quite easy and gives wonderful results. Mentoplasty can be used to reshape the profile and ensure a more harmonious face.
The procedure is suitable for anyone who is dissatisfied with the shape or size of their beard. The correction is suitable for both sexes, and we note that the share of interest in this type of intervention is evenly distributed between the female and male population. The shape and size of the beard are not negligible, as they significantly affect the harmony and appearance of the facial profile. The position and shape of the chin is largely a result of the bone structure of the entire face. Most of the time, people are not satisfied with their side profile - many think that their nose is too big or too small, and often the reason is that the chin is too small or too big.
Most often, candidates want a mentoplasty for the following reasons:
- asymmetrical face,
- too big or too small and backward chin,
- inconsistent facial profile,
- indistinct beard
Chin correction is also suitable for those who have experienced injuries or deformations of the chin.
At Estetika Fabjan, we understand that dissatisfaction with one's appearance, including the shape and size of one's beard, can have a profound effect on self-confidence and self-image. A strong, prominent jaw and a well-shaped chin are often associated with masculinity and a sense of power. For women, a beautiful and symmetrical beard that rounds off all other facial features is most appreciated in society.
Dissatisfaction with one's appearance can affect daily life, affect social interactions, and even lead to feelings of anxiety or depression. We believe that each individual is unique and that beauty lies in diversity. However, we also understand that small changes, such as a chin correction, can help improve self-confidence and well-being. Our goal is to help you achieve a look that matches your inner self-image, thereby improving your self-confidence.
With us, every transformation begins with a non-binding consultation with a surgeon. The doctor gets to know you, examines you, listens to your wishes and presents you with what results you can achieve.
Before the procedure, the surgeon must carefully examine the face and the dimensions of the chin. We must rule out an incorrect position of the jaw and a bite, as in such cases a visit to an oral surgeon is first necessary. As always, the key to a successful procedure depends on clear communication with your surgeon and realistic expectations.
If we meet all your expectations during the consultation, we will set a date for the chin correction. The procedure is fairly simple and takes between half and an hour. It can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the patient's wishes and complexity.
The day of the intervention is as follows:
- When you arrive at the clinic, we do an admission. Later, you meet the anesthesiologist, who gives you the appropriate anesthesia.
- The surgeon starts the procedure with a short incision under the chin. We insert a silicone implant through it. The minimal scar remains hidden under the overhang of the lower jaw, or the implant is inserted through an incision in the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. We can choose from implants of various sizes and shapes.
- The chin can be reduced and reshaped even without implants, by correcting the lower jaw. In this case, the desired part of the bone is removed from the lower jaw through an incision in the natural fold under the chin (at the transition from the chin to the neck), so that the chin gets a more perfect shape.
- The procedure is performed in a day hospital; you can go home a few hours after the procedure.
Surgical reshaping of the chin with silicone implants is an operation that is often performed at Fabjan clinics. The procedure changes the size and appearance of the chin. Chin augmentation surgery is tailored to each patient according to their needs.
The surgical incision can be made in the oral cavity on the lower part of the lower lip or directly in the skin under the chin.
The best candidates for this type of surgery are individuals who want to improve the appearance of their face, but are not looking for perfection. In addition to realistic expectations, good health and psychological stability are also important for a patient deciding on chin surgery.
Chin surgery can be performed together with other surgeries.
The beard can also be enlarged with the help of tissue fillers or own fat. We recommend that you discuss the most suitable method for you with our doctor at a consultation.
Absence from work in menthoplasty is very different. It depends on the discomfort of each patient and on other characteristics, such as the nature of the work (if, for example, you have to talk constantly at work), the extent of the correction, etc.
For a few days after surgery, you will feel discomfort and slight pain in the area of the procedure, which is normal. You will be prescribed analgesics to relieve discomfort. In our experience, clients take them 3-4 days after the procedure.
A changed sense of touch on the chin may also appear temporarily, which disappears after a couple of weeks. Bruising and swelling go away within a week or two. You can start with daily tasks immediately after the procedure, but it is recommended to wait at least two weeks before sports activities.
Chin reshaping surgery is performed by our experienced surgeons. As with any surgical procedure, mentoplasty also carries certain risks. The surgeon will explain them in detail to you during the consultation. These can include infection, bleeding, improper healing, dissatisfaction with results, and the need for additional procedures.
It is important to cooperate with the patient and the doctor, maintain realistic expectations and follow detailed instructions for recovery.
The price of mentoplasty depends on the specifics of each individual and is determined at the end of the consultation.
