Reasons for the procedure
A large group of patients after pregnancy and birth seek the help of plastic surgery due to child-birth consequences. These patients are seeking to restore the body to its previous state and are taking care of their physical activity and diet. They manage to reduce their body weight to their pre-pregnancy weight, but in certain parts of the body the fat persists and it does not respond to diet and physical activity. This fat must be corrected by liposuction (see liposuction).
A similar problem also happens in breasts after child-birth because they wither and become loose. Such breasts cannot be fixed without the aid of plastic surgery. This is surgery to lift the loose breast (if there is enough glandular tissue) by cutting and tightening the skin and thus making a new skin bra. The duration of the effect of the surgery depends on the quality (elasticity) of the skin and breast tissue. An unavoidable result are scars around the nipple, vertically down from the nipple to the fold under the breast and sometimes a scar in the crease of the breast. The visibility of the scar depends on the patient’s wound healing. The scar is red for a few months to one year; after one year it becomes brighter and looks more like the colour of the skin.

The patients sometimes cannot restore their previous state despite physical activity and diet.

In case there is enough glandular tissue, breasts of appropriate size can be formed only if we lift them.
When a patient has too little of her own tissue, simultaneously with the lift of the breast, a breast implant of adequate size needs to be inserted.
After the procedure
The surgery is as a rule performed under general anaesthesia, and the patient usually goes home the same evening.
Her working ability depends on the position, but it is generally regained a week to ten days after surgery.
The sensitivity of the nipple may be reduced a few months after the surgery. In the event that the patient loses weight or becomes pregnant again, the breast become loose again.
